The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certifications have both been approved as recognised assessments on this new pathway to ChPP status.
This means that these hard-earned qualifications now have even more value, serving as stepping stones towards becoming a chartered project professional.
To meet the requirements of this new pathway, you’ll need to prove your qualification and experience.
Here’s how it breaks down:
• APM’s Project Management Qualification: A new validation process will be opening soon to help you validate your experience ahead of your application. So, stay tuned for more details on how to get this done.
• PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification: If you hold this certification, you’re already partway there. The qualification’s prerequisite requirement covers the necessary validation.
As part of this new pathway introduction, all existing routes to ChPP will get a new identity as pathways. This move is designed to provide greater clarity to the profession and support individuals from all backgrounds in their journey to gaining ChPP status as part of their professional development.
The new pathway officially launches in September 2024, with the first assessment cycle kicking off in November 2024. This gives you plenty of time to prepare and make the most of this new opportunity.
